Charles Barkley was ready to go to prison for slapping reporters and talking heads for putting LeBron James ahead of Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate. After a dismal showing by LeBron James in the 2018 NBA Finals, the NBA veteran threatened in a live broadcast to slap any media personality who decides to compare LeBron with Michael Jordan in the future.

The Golden State Warriors swept the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Finals. This marked their second consecutive victory over Cleveland in the Finals. Nobody expected the Cavaliers to get the better of the Warriors with Steph Curry and Kevin Durant on the roster.

However, LeBron James and the Cavs’ lack of desire to fight back upset many members of the NBA community, including Charles Barkley. In fact, the 1993 MVP ripped apart King James’ claim to the NBA throne in this segment of the broadcast.
Charles Barkley threatens to slap media personalities over GOAT debate
In the post-game broadcast of the 2018 Finals, Charles Barkley expressed his disappointment with LeBron James and the Cavaliers. The former Suns forward thought that James’ lack of desire to compete defined the series.
In other words, Barkley believed that the Cavs superstar’s “passiveness” drained the energy out of the home team. “That left me mad more than anything,” the veteran broadcaster didn’t hesitate to vent his frustration.

Meanwhile, Barkley also warned reporters and media members against comparing LeBron James with Michael Jordan. As it turns out, the 59-year-old wouldn’t mind using violence against anybody attempting such a thing.
“I’m just gonna slap the hell out of em, right on the spot,” Barkley said. “And I will take my chances with the judicial system,” he added.
Barkley’s unique sense of humor is well-known in the NBA world. Therefore, nobody thought twice about taking his warning seriously. Instead, co-hosts Chris Webber and Grant Hill immediately started laughing.
