NBA superstar Kevin Durant is one of the most sought-out players in the league at the moment. Ever since the season was over, KD’s name has been flying around with multiple trade rumors. Recently, there have been reports that the Boston Celtics are interested in the services of Durant. The reports suggest that the Celtics are ready to offer All-Star Jaylen Brown, among others, to land KD.

The Celtics swept the Brooklyn Nets in the first round of playoffs last season. Also, Brown was one of the best players for the Celtics in the Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

NBA legend Charles Barkley and Durant have history. Barkley’s comments about KD being a ‘Bus Rider’ didn’t sit well with the ‘Slim Reaper.’ And the two had a bit of a back and forth on social media. Barkley’s friend and NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, has had his say in the matter as well. However, things have finally cooled down.

Now Barkley joined the ‘Dan Patrick Show’ podcast. Patrick asked Chuck about the potential trade of KD to the Celtics for Jaylen Brown, a few players, and draft picks. Barkley replied, “Well, it depends on what they are giving up. I think everybody wants KD. We can be sure of that.”

“I mean, if you are just giving up Jaylen Brown and some draft picks, you [Celtics] do that deal right away. But like I said, they gotta want more than that. Or they don’t know what the h**l they’re doing in Brooklyn.”

Then Patrick asked whether the Nets should tell Durant that they will not trade him because he has a contract. And Barkley said that the Nets should have done that already. He said that he would tell KD that he will not be traded. Because the Nets might have the best team in the East next season. Barkley also believes Kyrie Irving must play well in order to get a good contract.

He also said that it was ironic that Durant announced his intentions to move immediately after the day Kyrie was brought in. So the former MVP said that in his humble opinion Durant has had enough of Irving. However, the future of Irving with the Nets is still not completely sorted out.

In terms of Kevin Durant to the Celtics, the reports suggest the Nets are asking for Marcus Smart along with Jaylen Brown. After the news blew up, Brown took to Twitter to show his disappointment with the rumors.
