Chinese Kids Using “Smarter” TikTok Than American Kids — Shaquille O’Neal Shares Popular Theory

Shaquille O’Neal has been proactive on social media since his retirement. If social media was rampant during his playing days, he’d constantly be on it. In all the jokes that the basketball legend shares on his social media, he has recently shared an informational one. The Lakers legend is close to his kids and has parented six of them. He’d be the one to understand the negative effects that social media can have on a young individual.

The video entailed information on how China regulates its “Tiktok” app for children and how it might have a positive effect on the future generation. It also explains how it would affect 2-3 generations in the future, possibly costing the nation in a negative way.

Tiktok regulations in China

Recently, Shaquille O’Neal shared a video on how the Chinese government regulates their social media app “TikTok” for children under the age of 14. The video had information that explained that the Chinese version of the app only had videos that were related to educational experiences for U-14s. ‘Douyin’ is the name of the Chinese version, which has a ‘youth mode’.

There is a huge difference in how 14-year-olds consume content between China and the USA. The young US audience is treated to recreational videos whereas the young Chinese audiences are treated to content that is educational. Compared to the mandatory time limits of the Chinese version, the US version regulations are voluntary. The Chinese version has a time limit of 40 minutes per day if you are under 14 years old.

The expert in the video explained how the effects of such regulations will be seen over the next few generations. According to him, there is a huge difference in career choices between both audiences.

The Lakers no. 34 has multiple businesses post his career, as O’Neal decided to complete his doctorate in business. The 7-foot giant was motivated to complete his education, which propelled his businesses post-retirement.
