Chris Paul Pays Homage To Michael Jordan’s Space Jam In Latest OT Victory Over Utah Jazz

Chris Paul is having an amazing season with the Phoenix Suns. The veteran point guard has led the Suns to one of the best record in the league with 36 wins and 14 losses.

The Suns had a statement win against the Utah Jazz in their last game. Led by Devin Booker’s 36 points and CP3’s 29 points and 9 assist performance, the Suns ultimately prevailed over the Jazz 117-113 in an intense overtime game. They now are only a game away from matching Jazz’s record in the league.

The NBA community currently is obsessed with the upcoming release of the LeBron James starrer ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’. Players have also added on to the hype around Space Jam. From tweets to viral comments, everyone has had their unique way to contribute to this hype.

The latest to join this list was veteran guard Chris Paul. Paul, who was absolutely balling in the game against the Jazz. He paid an homage to an iconic scene from the original Space Jam movie featuring Michael Jordan.

In a timeout against Utah, CP3 can be seen using a bottle with the writing ‘Chris’ Special Stuff.’ Just like how it worked for Jordan and Co. in Space Jam, the drink certainly did the trick for Paul.

This is not the first time that Chris Paul has been associated with Space Jam. His name has popped up in the probable star cast of the new Space Jam movie. Given the relationship he shares with LeBron James, it won’t be a big surprise to see him alongside Bron.

Phoenix Suns championship hopefuls?

CP3 has truly turned the Suns’ fortunes this season. Phoenix, who haven’t had a playoff appearance since the last ten years, have become one of the top teams in the NBA.

With the perfect balance of veteran leadership in Chris Paul and Jae Crowder, to flashy young players like Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton, the Suns are one of the most exciting teams in the league.

The veteran guard has truly brought the best out of this team so far. Paul and Co. have had some amazing games against top opposition as well. He has been key in making Booker one of the best young players in the league.

Teams will be vary of the threat this Suns team possesses. But the biggest question will be whether the Suns can step up in the playoffs. If this group of young players can step up, there is no stopping the Suns. Some of the key players of the roster are still young and haven’t hit their peak just yet.

The Suns are surely in for a deep playoff run. But a championship might be a long shot this season. Given the progress these young players are showing, though, they are a year or two away from becoming one of the favorites for the championship.
