The Cleveland Cavaliers started the 2020-21 NBA season in good form. However, with time, the franchise slowly slipped to the bottom three teams in the conference.

Their two young stars, Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, are still doing fine, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the team.

Kevin Love, in particular, has failed to even show up for the team due to yet another injury. In the last two seasons, Love has struggled with injuries time and time again. This has led to fans wondering if Love’s career is coming to an end with the Cavs.

He’s taking a huge space in the team’s cap space, making more than $30 million per year. So, there won’t be any surprise if the organization wants to get rid of his huge contract.

With the trade deadline nearing, many rumors are claiming that Love won’t be a Cavaliers player for a long time. FortyEightMinutes’ Sam Amico wrote an interesting report about the same. Amico confirmed that the team is trying to trade a bunch of other players. But when asked about Kevin Love’s future, he wrote:

“On the other hand, the Cavs would love to move Kevin Love, but as one opposing GM predicted to FortyEightMinutes, ‘That’s not happening.'”

This is an interesting turn of events, as Love has been part of the team for seven seasons. In fact, he was one of the most crucial players in the Cavs’ 2016 NBA Championship run behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

After the departure of those two superstars, most expected Love’s numbers to shoot up. However, in reality, the 32-year-old has been struggling to stay fit for the last couple of seasons. As a result, it’s no surprise that the franchise wants to trade him.

Additionally, the Cavaliers already have an exciting young core of Sexton, Garland, and Jarrett Allen. So, it’s quite evident they would want to invest their time and money on the up-and-coming stars.

But what are your thoughts on this? Do you believe the Cavs will be able to trade Love soon? Or has Love’s trade value plummeted beyond saving?
