Attention Lakers Nation, Rajon Rondo is set to return to the Purple and Gold! Following a brief hiatus of sorts where Rondo moved around the league from Atlanta to even the Clippers, he’s home. Playoff Rondo was pivotal for L.A. as they bulldozed the league en route their 17th championship.

Amidst last year’s chaos, did Rajon just pull a fast one on the L.A. Clippers, who traded away former sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams to sign the veteran? The PG as a Clipper in 2021 was nowhere near his best, as all he brought to the Clippers was confrontation! Following a trade and then a buyout, he is likely to return to the LakeShow once he clears waivers on Monday.

Lakers Twitter goes wild

Laker fans don’t need a reason to take shots at the L.A. Clippers. But when opportunities like this present themselves, they’re just too good to miss! And true to tradition, the Purple and Gold faithful jumped all over the news as they took to Twitter ripping the Clippers apart.

Rajon Rondo is a huge upgrade over any of the Lakers’ original targets for the final three spots. Not only does he shoot it, facilitate and defend better than IT and Darren Collison, Playoff Rondo is a certified all-star.

It’s like they say, it’s not about you, but the team around you! And Rondo’s move back to the “big brothers” of L.A. just proves which team is the real deal. Perhaps after constantly getting into people’s faces last year on the Clippers, even Rondo realises it’s a lost cause!

Apart from his game winning assist against Denver, reports also surfaced that LA’s defensive strategy in the title clincher was designed by Rondo himself! Also possessing a high basketball IQ, floor general Rondo ran the Lakers’ offense without LeBron on the floor, averaging 8.9ppg/6.6apg on 40% shooting from 3.
