WNBA star Britney Griner has emerged as one of the most controversial stars in the basketball world. Griner served her time in a Russian prison for several months on drug charges. Moreover, after a long-fought legal battle, the American government managed to bring the star back to American soil. She remained away from media attention for a while until a recent update put Griner again on the radar. Incidentally, the stars’ recent move resembled the iconic Michael Jordan moment.

The Phoenix Mercury center wasn’t the only player to copy Jordan but also the Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green. Griner played her last WNBA game against the Chicago Sky in October 2021. However, the star is all set to return to the hardwood after a long break as she broke the news in style. Meanwhile, the return announcement had an uncanny resemblance with Air Jordan’s press release from 1995.

Subsequently, he shook the NBA world with his retirement announcement in October 1993, months after his father’s demise. He tried his luck at baseball for a while until he shook the NBA world again with a three-word press release in March 1995.
