On June 11, 2022, Stephen Curry put up a 43-point performance to give Golden State Warriors the edge in Boston Garden. He was red-hot from the three-pointer line as he made 7 threes on an even 50% shooting. He was there for his team when they needed him in a must-win matchup. Steve Kerr watched Curry put his team on his back like a superstar and couldn’t help but get emotional.

Kerr has been coaching Curry since 2015. They have had quite a stellar professional career together. Together they have played a total of 6 NBA finals in 8 years. A lot of the credit goes to the Warriors front office for drafting Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green and becoming one of the few ‘built not bought’ finals-bound cores out there.

Moreover, as the Golden State Warriors fell down 2-1, in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. With the Warriors‘ season essentially on the line, Curry put a game-high 43 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while dealing with a left foot injury. For Stephen Curry, this is more than a finals game 4. He is pushing his ranks through the top players in the history of this sport every time he steps foot on the court.

“That’s the thing that makes him special is his character, strength, and character matches his skill and level of conditioning,” Kerr told Burke. “It’s all tied together. He just cares so much. He works so hard, so easy to coach. Whenever I’m done coaching, I will look back and just say thank you to Steph. Night after night. He’s made this situation for us as an organization easy for everybody. And he’s just a special, special player, special person.”

Stephen Curry has changed the course of the Golden State Warriors from a franchise that was in the lottery to going to finals back to back. He has given it all to the game. The all-time 3-pointers made record holder is making history with every game he plays. With 7 of his three in game 4, Steph now holds the record for most NBA finals games with more than 5 three-pointers made.

At this point in the interview, Kerr got emotional. He said, “Whenever I’m done coaching, I will look back and just say then you Steph.

However, NBA fans went crazy on the internet as Curry torched Boston at their home. More than 13 years ago, Stephen Curry made a promise to the bay area fans. He told them that the better days for the franchise are coming. Since that tweet, He has brought 2 MVP trophies, 3 championships, and every three-pointer record in the book.

He is truly a franchise player, and a great dynasty starts and ends with him. He is the truest definition of a ‘Franchise superstar’ who trusted in the process and found success. It is of no doubt that when all of these end, Kerr and Curry would go down as one of the greatest player-coach duo.
