Over the past few years, the NBA has seen an explosion in the three-point shot. Everybody today is taking threes and is arguably one of the most important skills to have. And the most important commodities today are the best shooters in the league. And Stephen Curry who missed a little over a season is third all-time in 3-pointers made in the last 6 seasons.
The league had been moving towards the three-point shot over the last decade, but the last six years have been off the charts. Teams shoot a high volume of threes and the range has also gotten deeper. Many teams average over 50 three-point shots a game.

And among the top players who have made the most threes, Buddy Hield is on the top of the list. Hield has become an excellent three-point shooter over the years. And second was James Harden, who still is second despite not being in top form over the last two years. Then it is Stephen Curry, arguably the greatest shooter of all time who has missed more than a season and a half.
Most 3-pointers made since the 2016-2017 season:

I’m not a huge buddy fan, the guy has many flaws in his game and I haven’t seen improvement in those areas, but put this man on a team with Lebron to get him open and he could cook

Hield 40% since 2016
Harden 35.7% since 16-17
Curry 41.2% since 16-17— bryce (@Curryisbetter) August 28, 2022
One of the best shooters ever and we don't talk about him. It's a shame.
— Joseph Martin (@JMART4316) August 28, 2022
He's overrated. I'd send him and Myles Turner to LA immediatly for Russell Westbrook and 1 or 2 first rounders. Objectively he's not all that and neither is Myles Turner.

Buddy Hield may be on the move
Hield developed into one of the league’s best shooters at the Sacramento Kings. But he was later moved to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Domantas Sabonis. But the Pacers are now going through a rebuild and Hield is in the prime of his career. And he would want to play for a contending team.
