Former All-Stars LeBron James and Kevin Durant always cherish their excitement over being NBA champions. Damian Lillard sees nothing wrong with this sentiment, but he disagrees with the idea of ring chasing.

Lillard stresses his perspective on winning a ring like LeBron James and Kevin Durant do. “I’m not a fan of that, and that’s why I don’t play my career to that narrative”, expresses Lillard.
“It’s not in disrespect to anybody else who made a different decision, it’s just in respect for me standing in what I believe and being able to deal with whatever the consequences are”, said the point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard said that there is no need for it in an interview on Uninterrupted’s ‘Road Trippin’ podcast. He told his cohosts – Mo Williams (former teammate) and Big Cat from Barstool Sports – that they are making a mistake by thinking too much about rings instead of focusing on playing well as professionals.

Lillard also weighed in on the Stephen Curry vs. LeBron James debate, saying “There is no wrong answer there. They are both great players”. However, he did state that he believes Curry is the better player right now.
