Finally, there is some clarity and it might disappoint the Portland Trail Blazers fanbase. After years of back and forth, Damian Lillard has officially asked for a trade, and the $2.1 billion worth franchise is said to be figuring out options.

“Portland G Damian Lillard has requested a trade and the franchise is expected to work to accommodate him,” revealed NBA’s favorite insider, Adrian Wojnarowski.

Lillard won the 2013 Rookie of the Year award and has since spent 11 seasons in Portland. The Dame rumor mill might finally reach a conclusion as Dame seems intent to not see out his 12th season with the Trail Blazers.

Which team will land Lillard?

There are a lot of options for Damian Lillard. One of the front runners to land Lillard’s signature has been the Miami Heat. Following a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals, Jimmy Butler and Co will be more than happy to welcome Lillard. But it might not be with their youngest star along for the ride.

Another team that has quietly put out feelers on Lillard is the Brooklyn Nets. Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed that the Heat and the Nets as the frontrunners for Lillard. Last, but not the least, the Philadelphia 76ers are also a team to keep an eye on. However, their entire trade strategy for Lillard will depend on what happens with 2018 MVP James Harden.
