With a score of 122-97, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the LA Clippers. The trade that brought James Harden and the 76ers together is looking great, especially with the coordination between Joel Embiid and Harden. In terms of performance, the team is leading the Eastern Conference and looking dangerous going into the playoffs.

The trade for Harden is looking like a great decision. Particularly after their performance against the Clippers in which Embiid scored 27 points and Harden scored 29. In the game, the duo shot 19 times from the line, with Embiid making 7-8 and Harden making 11-11.

Following the match, it became a highlight of the conversation that followed the loss that the Clippers suffered. Clippers coach Tyronn Lue shared his thoughts after the loss against the 76ers. Particularly with regard to how many free throws Harden and Embiid took.

In light of how they score points, he said: “Embiid is number one in the league in free throws and James Harden is number three. You take away their free throws and neither guy would be top-10 in scoring,” Lue explained.

Are James Harden and Joel Embiid making lots of free throws this season?
In terms of player statistics, Embiid is averaging 29.8 points, including 11.8 free throw attempts, leading the league. On the other hand, if we look at Harden, he averages 22.5 points and takes 8.4 free throws. That is the third-highest in the league.

In response to Lue’s headline-making statement, Sixers President Daryl Morey tweeted about feedback concerning the Clippers’ performance during this session. Morey wrote: “Clippers offense would rank 30th without free throws Say it with me again – players are fouled because the other team cannot stop them.”
