Very few have left a notable mark in the illustrious 76-year history of the NBA. However, among those scant few, some have gone down as one of the greatest to ever do it. Likewise, Shaquille O’Neal left a mark on the game of basketball like no one before. The Hall of Famer dominated and reigned terror in the league for most of his career. Many old-timers would recall he was a man among boys. Consequently, one of the most feared big men in NBA history went on to have one of the greatest careers. However, it appears ‘Superman’ has successfully passed down his in-human genes to his immediate kin.

Like father, Like daughter. The Big Diesel’s 16-year-old daughter, Me’arah O’Neal, has already started to make a name for herself. But being the daughter of someone as famous as the Los Angeles Lakers legend certainly comes with its baggage. However, ‘Meezy’ recently issued a bold statement about her own merit.

Me’arah O’Neal, 16, is the youngest daughter of Shaquille O’Neal and his ex-wife Shaunie Henderson. Unsurprisingly, like her father, Me’arah, or ‘Meezy’, has emerged as a dominant force at the high school level. Interestingly, Meezy was set to be home-schooled at first. However, she moved from Los Angeles to Houston in order to focus on basketball. Consequently, she joined Episcopal high school.

Likewise, her emerging star status granted her a feature story by H-Town High School Sports. The all-encompassing story covered most aspects of her game and life. However, while discussing her father and his influence on her life, Meezy issued a bold statement to all her classmates and the doubters. She reaffirmed, “It was definitely good; it was definitely something special. I learned not to hide it and just embrace it, and to make sure that everybody knows that I am just like that, I am no special kid or nothing it is just me.”

As a junior, Me’arah has shown signs of immense potential, standing at an eye-catching 6’4” tall. Moreover, according to many scouting reports, she has an all-around game. Reportedly, she can get blistering hot on offense and, at the same time, clamp down the best players on defense. To top it all, unlike her father, Meezy is a respectable shooter from beyond the arc and the free-throw line.

The 16-year-old is set to play college ball in 2024. Moreover, she has already received an offer from the prestigious UCLA Women’s basketball program.
