In an NBA game, it is always safe to ‘expect the unexpected’. Particularly, the current season has provided fans with impressive performances and plenty of few on-court goof-ups. Fans had already witnessed a 40-minute delay in a game between Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics over an uneven rim, a week ago. Similarly, the Nuggets were plagued by the same issue during their Friday night game. Notably, both the games were home games of the Nuggets. Moreover, the sheer coincidence made fans accuse the Nuggets of cheating on Twitter.

During the game between the Nuggets and Celtics a week ago, the officials had taken the center stage to fix the uneven rim which cost a 40-minute game delay. However, the Nuggets went on to win the game comfortably (123-111). Nikola Jokic pitched in a triple-double with  30 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists for the victory. Surprisingly, the Denver Nuggets faced the same issue in their recent match-up against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

NBA fans have a field day on the Nuggets game delay

During the Friday night game between the Nuggets and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the game faced a delay due to an uneven rim in the fourth quarter. In a video shared by Bleacher Report Twitter, the court was filled with mixed emotions across. While the officials were involved in fixing the rim, the Nuggets guard Jamal Murray had a lighter moment with the spectators as he sat among the fans. Contrarily, the Nuggets coach Michael Melone looked visibly frustrated with the delay. Furthermore, Jokic’s frolic amid the delay caught the fan’s attention.

In another video shared by Bleacher Report Twitter, The Nuggets center Nikola Jokic took running laps on the court while the officials fixed the rim. The fans flooded with reactions in the comments. One user said, “The nuggets be cheating.” Following are some reactions from the NBA Twitter:

Despite the interruption, the Nuggets managed a comfortable victory over the Cavaliers (128-108). Jokic produced yet another triple-double with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. They are currently on the top of the Western Conference points table with a (26-13) record.
