Shaquille O’Neal tricks Kenny Smith
Several days ago, Shaquille O’Neal had tried to persuade Kenny Smith into racing him to the board. During the halftime segment Phoenix Suns-Denver Nuggets face-off, the 15x All-Star made yet another attempt at coaxing Smith into racing him. However, this time Shaq had a few tricks up his sleeve. After taking Barkley and Shaq’s take on the Suns vs Nuggets game, Ernie Johnson moved on to ask for Smith’s opinion. In response, the NBA veteran said, “First of all, my chair is booby-trapped. It doesn’t spin.”
As soon as the words came out of Smith’s mouth, Shaq got up from his chair and simply walked toward the board as a way of finishing the ‘race’. Turns out, it was the Diesel who had locked Smith’s chair with a remote. After finding out Shaq’s trickery, Smith simply said, “That’s a genius, I’m not gonna lie. That might be the best one.”

Smith and Chuck bet on Shaq
When Shaquille O’Neal first proposed the idea of racing to the board, his co-hosts had turned down the idea in fear of his health. Smith revealed that Shaq was already physically too active for a person just out of surgery and ‘diving on couches’. This apparently led Smith and Chuck to place a bet over the duration it would take for the Lakers legend to ‘blow out your new hip‘.
