The defeat prompted Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson to make a Game 7 prediction. Johnson’s prediction was effectively dismantled by Stephen Curry and the Warriors, who won the game 120-100. Following their round 1 victory, Magic took to Twitter to give the Baby-Faced Assassin his flowers.

Magic Johnson applauds Stephen Curry

Magic Johnson was among millions of fans who were looking forward to watching the Warriors defeat their opponents in Game 6. However, following their disappointing loss, Johnson seemingly lost hope on the Warriors progressing to round 2. Stephen Curry’s team exceeded Magic’s expectations and won Game 7 with a 20-point difference in their opponent’s home court. Minutes later, the Hall of Famer praised “Chef Curry” on Twitter.

In his tweet on Dub Nation’s victory, Magic wrote, “When the Warriors needed superstar Steph Curry the most, he put the team on his back and led them to a 120-100 win over the Kings! With 50 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists, this was one of his greatest performances ever!”

Curry impressively dropped a game-high 50 points making him the first player in the league’s history to score 40+ points in Game 7. Teammate Klay Thompson added 16 points and five rebounds. In addition, Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. The San Francisco side’s impressive performance put to bed Magic Johnson’s prediction for Game 7.

What did Magic say?

Shortly after the Warriors lost to the Kings in Game 6, the 5x NBA champion shared his Game 7 prediction on Twitter. Given their history of road games, Johnson wrote, “I?m going to give the Kings the edge in Game 7 because they beat the Warriors definitively tonight”. While the Warriors might have disappointed a whole lot of fans in Game 6 but their last face-off was nothing short of a thrilling experience.

The Warriors will be facing LeBron James‘ Los Angeles Lakers in the conference finals. Game 1 of the Warriors-Lakers matchup is set to take place on May 2.
