Christmas day games are always a delight to watch. For players too, it is an exciting time as they spend the day of joy playing the sport they love. This season 10 teams will be playing on the 25th of December. With that said, Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, who have been in sublime form, will not be playing on Christmas Day. For many, this is a saddening sight and recently, Durant took the blame for the same.

In an interview, Kevin Durant stated that a match-up between the Knicks and the Nets would have been an ideal game for Christmas Day. However, this isn’t the reality. While referring to the off-season drama that the Nets were a part of, Durant made a light comment. He said, “I probably am responsible for us not playing on Christmas because of what went on this summer”. Durant might feel a tinge of guilt, but on ‘The etc with KD’, the two-time NBA Champion opened up about his true feelings towards the holidays.

Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets are scheduled to play the Cleveland Cavaliers on 26th December. This meant that they’d be spending Christmas in Cleveland. Following this, the 2014 MVP stated that he wouldn’t be going Christmas shopping. He said, “I give presents all year”. His co-host, Eddie Gonzalez, promised Durant that he’d show up with gifts for their next recording. Gonzalez added that while he has presented Durant with gifts, he knows that Durant is someone who doesn’t require anything.

The two-time Finals MVP immediately encouraged his co-host not to get him anything. However, Gonzalez ignored this. Once again he said that he would certainly get Durant something. It’s clear that Durant doesn’t go big on the holidays but he surely likes to be home for them.
