Despite this, the five-time champion lost all his fortune. It is safe to say the Worm was a party animal and lived life king-size. The once-homeless Rodman lived an extravagant life that was not sustainable. Over the years, many professional athletes have lost their fortune because of their lifestyle. However, in Rodman’s case, it was not entirely his fault.

Despite his superstar status during his playing years, Rodman was not highly paid. He earned around $27 million in salary throughout his NBA career. He reportedly earned his highest salary of $9 million a year during the 1996-97 season with the Bulls. However, his income was not just limited to the NBA salary.

Dennis Rodman was one of the most popular athletes during his playing years. His antics off the court were a huge talking point wherever he played and it brought him into the spotlight. This landed him huge opportunities on different shows and gigs even after retiring, which earned him good money. But he was scammed by a woman who claimed to be a financial advisor.

Peggy Ann Fulford met Rodman in the mid-2000s and he became a client of her sports management firm. Little did Rodman know, Peggy was scamming him. According to reports from Sports Illustrated, as financial red flags started to pile up, Rodman asked Peggy about it. But she blamed the financial issues on the two-time DPOY’s spending habits.

Furthermore, she claimed Rodman cannot be trusted with his own money and took full control of his bank accounts. She even cut access to his debit card. The Chicago Bulls legend believed her so much that he even mentioned her during his Hall of Fame speech.

Unfortunately, Rodman was not the only athlete that was scammed by the woman. Other NBA and NFL veterans fell into her trap as well. In 2018, Peggy was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her scams.
