Dennis Rodman, Who Once Vowed to Take Kanye West to North Korea, Looked Like a Kid on Christmas While Opening Gifts From the Rapper in 2020

Dennis Rodman is an inspiration to Kanye West. The rapper said so in a tweet dating back to 2018. When the Hall of Famer found out, Rodman voiced his respect and love for Kanye. He said, “I think that he respects me as far as understanding my views. And Kanye, he’s doing amazing work around the world so I respect him too”. Rodman then expressed his desire to work and travel with the Chicago native.

While planning his trip to North Korea in 2018, Rodman hoped for Kanye West to tag along. He voiced this publicly. The five-time NBA Champion said, “If the door’s open in September, I will invite Kanye West with me to go to North Korea with me”. He also suggested that North Korea could serve as an inspiration for Kanye’s new song or album. This was one of the first instances when the public was witness to a story about Kanye West and Rodman. The duo seemed to have gotten closer over the years.

Dennis Rodman makes a wish

In 2020, the Chicago Bulls legend recorded a birthday wish for the rapper. Kanye posted this wish on his social media handle and captioned the post, “Blessings from one of my heroes, The incredible alien-level Dennis Rodman!” 

In the video, Rodman poured his love and affection for Kanye while commenting about the high level of security around him. He also asked Kanye to meet up with him and stated that the location didn’t matter. Following this, Rodman added that he was proud of everything Kanye was doing for the brand Adidas.

He then requested the Yeezy founder to send him some shoes. He said, “Send me some shoes sometime. What the f**k, man? Chicago boys, what’s up?” The two-time NBA All-star concluded the video by wishing Kanye a very happy birthday and addressing him as ‘baby’. Months after this wish, Kanye made Rodman’s wish come true.

A dream come true thanks to Kanye West

During the same year, Christmas came early for The Worm as Kanye sent boxes of the new Yeezy shoes to the former power forward. Rodman recorded a video of unboxing the gift.

In the video, the Hall of Famer ripped the shoe box from the middle and drew out one pair of shoes. Following this, he did the same to another box of Yeezys. When Rodman held the Yeezys in his hand, he yelped like a little kid. He said, “Oh s**t” and broke into a fit of laughter.
