It is no secret that the former NBA player loved fleeing off to Vegas to blow some steam off. Whether it was off-season or mid-season, such factors simply didn’t matter. But Rodman would make up for it by giving his best performance on the court.
And he had never missed a game due to this, well…except for one time.
Dennis Rodman once missed a game due to his love of parties
In an episode of the Full Send Podcast, Rodman talked about the time he went to Vegas in the middle of the season. He recalled how His Airness Michael Jordan had to go get him back. As the conversation carried on, he said that going to Vegas was his ‘fix’ as it energized him. One of the host then asked him how many times he went to Vegas, to which Rodman replied about 20-25 times every season. However, the five-time NBA champion claimed that he never messed up during games for his off-the-court antics. And he only missed one game for going out to party.

The host then further asked if he had missed any game during those times. Rodman revealed that he did miss one game throughout his career. But, this time, it wasn’t Vegas he went to. He had gone to Atlantic City. The Chicago Bulls were playing the Brooklyn Nets on the road. However, the seven-time rebounding champion forgot all about it.
“—-just playing, drinking drinking drinking all night, stuff like that and I forgot I had a basketball game that day. I said ‘sh*t! I got a basketball game.” said Rodman

Furthermore, Rodman added that he still sat gambling and went back to the hotel. His security team then arrived and reminded him that he had missed the game, after which they flew back to Chicago while the game was ongoing in New Jersey.
