NBA guard gets arrested for alleged assault

On February 15, 29-year-old Bryn Forbes was apprehended by police with a charge of family violence. As per reports by ESPN, Forbes was accused of inflicting physical injuries, misconduct behavior, and having a verbal dispute with a female partner. Apparently, the 2021 NBA champion had an argument with his ‘date’ during which Forbes hit her several times. Consequently, he was detained in the early hours of Wednesday in San Antonio. Following that, he was then taken to the Bexar County Jail. As of now, there are no reports of Forbes’ bail or his legal representative. The news was tweeted by Dillon Collier from KSAT Investigates.

Forbes went undrafted during the 2016 NBA Draft selection and joined the San Antonio Spurs for the Summer League. After playing for the Spurs for four seasons, he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks in free agency. During his time with the Bucks, Forbes won his first-ever championship in 2021.

He then returned to the Spurs but eventually got traded to the Denver Nuggets about five months later. After playing for the Nuggets for six months, Forbes joined the Minnesota Timberwolves in July 2022.

Timberwolves waive Forbes to clear their roster

The Minnesota Timberwolves were part of the three-team trade deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Utah Jazz. After months of uncertainty, the Lakers finally traded Russell Westbrook to the Jazz but his ultimate destination still remains in question. Along with Westbrook, the Lakers also traded Damian Jones and Juan Toscano-Anderson to the Jazz. In turn, they acquired Timberwolves’ D’Angelo Russell and Jazz’s Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt.
