Whenever one thinks of the Golden State Warriors, the name Stephen Curry undoubtedly comes to mind. And rightfully so. The sharpshooter has helped bring four NBA titles to the Warriors organization within the past decade. So when asked who the best player on the Warriors team is, the answer is usually unanimous.

However, the two-time MVP once got snubbed in favor of his teammate by Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman. Rodman appeared on the CBS Sports radio show ‘Reiter Than You’ in 2017 and sat down with Bill Reiter to discuss his views on the Golden State Warriors.

Dennis Rodman gives props to another Warrior

The conversation started when Rodman was asked by Reiter whether Stephen Curry would’ve been a star in the 90s era. And that’s when ‘The Worm’ told the reporter, “You know what, Steph Curry has took a step back.”

He went on to say that there is a certain player who makes that team and it isn’t Stephen Curry. The first guess that some may have is the team’s defensive anchor, Draymond Green

But Rodman said no to that too. In fact, he was referring to the other half of the ‘Splash Brothers’ duo, Klay Thompson

Furthermore, Rodman went on to say that Klay Thompson is the most important player on the Warriors. Rodman said, “…What I’m saying is that Klay Thompson makes that team. Everybody’s always worried about Curry. I know Curry’s dad and all that bulls—. But Klay Thompson makes that team. It ain’t Green, that guy, no. It’s Klay Thompson.”

Klay Thompson is a force in his own right

That was certainly an interesting take by the Bulls legend, and would likely split opinion amongst Golden State Warriors fans. Even though Thompson has been dealing with injuries for the past couple of years, when he is healthy, he can arguably be even deadlier than Curry.
