Spending time in prison is no easy task and WNBA star Brittney Griner has spent more than 200 days in a Russian prison. Reading books and letters have helped Griner a lot inside prison.
The Phoenix Mercury star has resorted to reading which helps her pass time and also helps her avoid loneliness. Because outside communication under such circumstances is limited and monitored.

It seems she has completed numerous books to pass her time. In fact, she is reading the Bible alongside an eminent Russian novel. “Besides the Bible, she’s reading Demons, by Dostoevsky, while in jail; she’s also finished works by Kafka and James Patterson, and the memoirs of rockers Keith Richards and Gregg Allman“, said a report.
The situation inside prison is nothing close to luxurious. Griner is quite stressed and also tired. However, photos of WNBA players honoring her during the All-Star event put her in a good mood.
A few weeks ago, a hostage expert revealed spine-chilling details of the state of Brittney Griner. According to Amy Manson of Hostage US, Griner has poor nutrition. Moreover, she also revealed that sometimes there is no access to fresh air and daylight.
Many coaches and players have sent letters to Brittney Griner
Writing and receiving letters have been very important for Brittney Griner. Many of her former teammates and also coaches have penned down letters to show solidarity with the jailed WNBA star.

Interestingly enough, even Griner has sent some letters from prison. Most notably, she wrote a handwritten letter to the President of the United States, Joe Biden. Her letter made headlines around the world and officials confirmed that Biden had read her letter.

In her letter, the former All-Star talked about her feelings while staying in prison. She touched upon how she fears she is going to stay in prison forever. Moreover, Griner also pleaded the Government officials to not forget about her and the other American detainees.
