Michael Jordan shoes break the previous record

In 2021, a pair of Nike Air Ships, previously worn by Michael Jordan during his playing career, was sold for $1.47 million. The sale set the record for the most expensive shoes to be auctioned. However, the record was recently broken when MJ’s Air Jordan XIIIs were sold for a whopping $2.2 million.

Jordan had worn the red and black pair of sneakers during Game 2 of the 1998 Finals, where he scored 37 points against the Utah Jazz. It was MJ’s last championship season with the Bulls before he retired for the second time.
