She continued, “I want them to be free, to be painfully average if they want, I want them to be free to be whoever it is they want to be. Not only Union, but her Miami Heat legend husband has also been very supportive of his children. “She’s the strong one in this family. She’s a hero,” said Wade in 2021 about Zaya. Not only her father, but Zaya Wade also found support from Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson in the past. In fact, DWade took some parenting inspiration from the five-time NBA champion!

Dwyane Wade showed unconditional support for his daughter

Wade lived in the state of Florida along with his family for quite some time. Due to his association with the city of Miami and its sports culture, DWade was naturally very close to the state. However, he took a major step for the betterment of his daughter. Florida has some unfavorable laws for the LGBTQIA+ community.

“My family would not be accepted or feel comfortable there. And so that’s one of the reasons why I don’t live there”, said the Heat legend during an interview with Rachel Nichols.

With continued support from her parents, Zaya Wade has become very successful in her field. Despite being only 16 years old, she has already done some very prominent projects. Some of her work includes walking for Tiffany and Co. and also walking the ramp at Paris Fashion Week 2023.
