Shaquille O’Neal issues apology to Devin Booker

Just why did Shaq apologize to Booker? What prediction did the shrewd basketball analyst make? Before the game began, Shaquille O’Neal saw no possibility of the three-time All-Star scoring with incredible efficiency as he has in these playoffs. It certainly did not hold true as Devin Booker shot an eye-popping 14-18 from the floor.

This left Shaq with no other choice. “Devin Booker, I am sorry, I owe you an apology. I got on TV and said you weren’t going 20 for 25 again. You mess around and go 14-18. So, sir, I apologize. Love the way you playing. And again, now we have a series,” said The Big Diesel.

Yes, Shaq was wrong, but his prediction wasn’t out of the ordinary. Book is just playing at a level the NBA realm has rarely seen before. He takes every step with confidence, exploiting his near-perfect mid-range game. He looks silky and at ease. Tonight, the Suns star scored 36 points shooting close to 78% from the field and 75% from three.

These numbers are far above excellent, they are rare and more importantly, special. D-Book always had the skills to back up his talent but in these playoffs, he is showing the basketball world why he was seen as the true successor to the late Kobe Bryant. So far in the postseason, the 26-year-old is effortlessly averaging 36.8 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds.
