NBA and Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons could very well be on his way out of Philly. Reports link Ben Simmons looking to make a move with interest from at least six NBA franchises. The NBA franchises reportedly interested in bringing in Simmons to add to their roster include Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, and San Antonio Spurs. This comes ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 NBA season, with teams currently training at their respective training camps.
The story of Ben Simmons’ fallout with the Philadelphia 76ers’ management, coaching staff, and some team members has taken over like wildfire over the NBA world. Simmons struggled with his form last season with the Sixers. He has since then been linked to moves away from the Philadelphia-based franchise. Keith Pompey, a reporter for ‘The Philadelphia Times’ reported about the six NBA franchises’ interest in the 25-year-old three-time All-Star.

The situation started when Ben Simmons had an awful game for the Sixers while playing against the Atlanta Hawks last season. Simmons’ entourage then held a talk with the Philadelphia front office requesting for a trade. His poor form, however, contributed to his drop in value. It also coincided with a contracted availability of superstars on the market. This led to Simmons eventually not getting his move in the off-season and the Sixers holding onto him because of a lack of convincing offers.

Ben Simmons has refused to meet with Sixers’ front office and even his team members. After refusing to show up for training sessions and media day duties, he has been warned through the media of potential fines and 25% of his salary for the season being withheld.
Despite the drama and negative press reaction that Simmons has drummed up, NBA franchises still seem to consider him a player worth taking a punt on. The six franchises mentioned could very well take a gamble on engineering a trade deal for Simmons because of a lack of ‘superstars’ in their squads.
