Recently, the NBA 2k22 cover athletes were revealed to the world. Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant are the current players who are part of the cover. In addition, Dirk Nowitzki and Kareem Abdul Jabbar are also gracing the cover. Candace Parker became the first woman to be on the cover of NBA 2K.

Durant wants his rating to be 99 in the new NBA 2K22. While he seemed to have a laugh while saying it, he could very well be serious.

While defending his statement, he said, “I think my rating should be a 99 on 2K. I work extremely hard, I can make shots from all over the floor. Um, I am a solid passer. I think I am a great passer, great rebounder, I mean, I pretty much do everything great that’s why I should be a 99.”

While Durant made a great pitch, 2K has not given that kind of rating for a long time. The highest that they go is 98. Notably, last year LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard took the throne of the highest-rated players. However, this year Kevin Durant very well deserves to be the topmost guy.

The manner in which he came back from injury and continued to dominate is still unreal. Despite injuries to fellow stars, he almost carried the Nets over Milwaukee in their matchup. This is made even more impressive if one considers that he had not touched a basketball for 2 whole years before this season.

Hence, it is fitting for Kevin Durant to be the highest overall player this season.

Who is the highest overall player in 2K?

Speaking of highest overalls, which player takes that spot? Shaquille O’Neal takes the crown for the highest ever rating in 2K history. The ‘Big Diesel’ received a 100 rating in 2K2. The next best of 99 belongs to quite a group of players.

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and LeBron James are some players who have received 99. Notably, the ‘King’ was the last player to receive a 99 rating in 2k14. Moreover, he has been the highest overall since 2K11.
