Doctor Provides Major Update on Luka Doncic’s Injury as Mavericks Fans Anxious After Utah Jazz Drubbing

The Dallas Mavericks took on the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs on Saturday. The Jazz took game 1 as the Mavericks were unable to overcome the absence of Luka Doncic. Luka suffered a calf injury in the final game of the season, which ruled him out of game 1 of the playoffs. And now a doctor has given an update which surely has the Mavs fans worrying.

Luka was in the building for game 1 as the came in to support his team. He was seen walking around freely without any crutches. The Jazz won 99-93 is a very close encounter between the two teams. Donovan Mitchell started off his playoffs in an impressive fashion as he put in 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Bojan Bogdanovic also chipped with 26 points. Jalen Brunson and Spencer Dinwiddie combined for 46 points but they took 39 shots to get there. The Mavs were unable to get their offense going as they struggled to find open looks without Doncic. And with the doctor’s update on Luka, the Mavs hopes are hanging by a thread.

The doctor’s update on Luka Doncic gives fans a little bit of hope

After seeing Luka walk into the arena without crutches, a doctor on Twitter gave his insight. He said, “No boot for Luka in this clip which is one positive sign for his calf injury but still appears to be walking somewhat cautiously. The line between healthy and re-injury is quite thin for these issues; especially with the intensity of the playoffs.”

This gives fans a little hope of Luka returning, but they also need to be cautious about him injuring himself again. Luka is known to be a tough guy and has played through injuries in the past. But the Mavs would not want to risk him for next season as well.

But without Luka, the Mavs struggled. They weren’t able to get open looks as the defense of the Jazz locked them up. They will need Luka’s scoring and passing if they have any chance of getting past the Jazz. Luka will be rarring to get back on the court, but he will also need to be careful about his injury.
