College basketball prospect Jordan McCabe called for political unity in the wake of Brittney Griner receiving a nine-year prison sentence from the Russian judicial system. The 23-year-old called for the freeing of every non-violent substance abuser from prison in a social media post. In addition, McCabe requested Americans to not divide the Brittney Griner situation along racial lines.
The sentencing of Brittney Griner has sparked a heated debate in the country. While many celebrities and public figures have urged authorities to swiftly broker a deal to bring the WNBA star home, many have expressed their discontent with the whole ordeal.

In an appearance on the ‘Full Send Podcast’, Tesla CEO Elon Musk underscored the double standard of the government in trying to free Griner while simultaneously imposing federal restrictions on the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Musk’s sentiment seemed to gain traction among a lot of people on the internet.
