NBA legend?Charles Barkley?is one of the most generous individuals in the sports world. The 1993 NBA MVP has a net worth of $60 million, and he recently signed a massive contract extension with?TNT?to continue as a basketball analyst. Despite his efforts to help people in need, Barkley was still criticized. He recently disclosed that he was criticized by many, thinking that he does not give back to the community. Charles claimed that negative news sells the most in the media. Barkley then talked about thousands of people from different backgrounds and communities helping NFL star Damar Hamlin with his charity. He noted the positive news should be talked about more. Stephen Jackson then added that many criticize him if he posts about his charity work, and if he does not post, many criticize he does not give back. Barkley admitted that is accurate and then revealed he had given $1 million last year to charity. He said that he has been helping educational institutions, including HBCUs, recently.?

The 11-time All-Star stated his colleagues Ernie Johnson, and Kenny Smith wonder why he does not talk about his charity work. The Hall of Famer then said that if he spoke about it, people would criticize him for bragging, and if he did not share, he would be criticized for not helping the Black community. He then talked about his advice to his daughter when she was young. Barkley stated,?“As I tell my daughter, I said, ‘Let me tell you something. Don’t you ever give these idiots power over you.'”

The?Philadelphia 76ers?legend added,?“But the point I was making was, I told her, ‘If somebody criticizes you, says bad things to you, just keep walking. Keep doing great in school. You’ll be a great person.'”

He also touched on being a grandfather and how his daughter broke his heart when she said she did not like sports.
