“Don’t Give Them Empty Threats or…”: Matriarch Sonya Left Stephen Curry With Chills Down His Spine While Talking of Discipline and Respect

Sonya Curry, the mother of the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and wife of former basketball player Dell Curry, is making her mark as an individual. With her new book ‘Fierce Love’, she is sharing her own story and standing out as a powerful woman. 

This book is subtitled ‘A Memoir of Family, Faith, and Purpose’, in which she describes many phases of her life. “I wrote Fierce Love to share my story, my testimony, and my experience so that others may find strength and purpose in their own journeys,” the 55-year-old said about the process of writing her book with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview.

Explaining how she raised her children and managed her family during a particular period. She spoke about building her own identity and personality, and about how she is working on herself.

The way she expressed her beliefs is very inspiring as this ride also brought her to a world of faith and prosperity. During a recent interview, she talked with her four children Stephen, Seth, and Sydel Curry about many aspects of their lives and how it was portrayed in the book.

While her children appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to promote Sonya’s new book, ‘Fierce Love’, they discussed a wide range of topics. As Sonya spoke of discipline and respect, Stephen Curry was left with chills down his spine as the word discipline reminded him of his childhood. He said, “I shook for a second cause I went back into the past.” As she explained the situation, she mentioned: “So don’t just threat, don’t give them empty threats because then you’ll lose respect.”

We have seen her kids support her throughout her life, as they have seen her go through many phases. Based on the discipline, we can see that all three of her children have succeeded well.
