A part of the Inside the NBA team on TNT, Charles has made quite the reputation for himself post-retirement. During one of his TV appearances, Sir Charles spoke about his gambling addiction, something that Jordan shared as well.

Charles Barkley on how he didn’t know how to gamble

During an episode of the In-Depth podcast with Gregg Bensinger, Charles spoke about his struggles with gambling. Discussing the topic, he stated, “I remember talking to one of my friends and he says gambling isn’t your problem. You’re an idiot.” The statement was an eye-opener for Barkley as he reveals that the advice changed how he viewed gambling.

Continuing to explain, he stated, “I developed this thing where I was like I’ve got to win a million dollars. He told me when we go gambling, whether you win a couple of hundred dollars or fifty thousand dollars, let’s quit and have fun.” This remark helped Barkley change his perspective on gambling, making it an enjoyable leisure activity now.

Claiming he used to lose a million dollars 10-20 times in one sitting, Barkley lost well over $30,000,000.

Not in a mindset to break the casino anymore, Chuck has turned over a new leaf. The former MVP is no longer a slave to this mistake and can enjoy it without breaking the bank.

In the Netflix documentary ‘The Last Dance’, we come to know that Michael Jordan also shares similar issues with gambling. Jordan had quite a flawless career, but if we were to find one his addiction to gambling would surely make the list.
