The All-Star game is closing in and the reserves were finally announced as well. GSW’s Draymond Green was one of the players selected in the Western Conference reserves. However, he revealed that he won’t be able to take part in the All-Star game as he is currently dealing with an injury. While it was not the greatest news for Golden State Warriors fans, Green did name a replacement for himself.

Draymond Green gives Warriors fans the bad news

The NBA on TNT crew revealed the NBA Western Conference All-Star reserves and Green was one of them. This marks the forward’s fourth All-Star selection. However, he broke out the bad news, as Green won’t be traveling to Cleveland due to a lower back injury. With the reserve spot open, he hopes to see Spurs’ Dejounte Murray fill it, as he had immense praise for him.

Green said, “He’s continued to grow each and every year. You’re talking a kid who had an ACL injury, rehab, came back stronger. And if you follow Dejounte at all, the kid lives in the gym. So hopefully he’ll get rewarded one of these days soon.”

“I think he may have a chance to get rewarded because I won’t be able to play in the All-Star games. So he may have a chance to get rewarded by commissioner Silver and I hope that comes to fruition for him because he deserves it.”

While the final decision comes down to Adam Silver, Murray has had a heck of a season. He is averaging 19.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 9.1 assists and is leading the league in steals per game. Moreover, he has ten triple-doubles to his name so far and is fourth in assists per game.

The Spurs haven’t been able to steer off his success, but there is no doubt he deserves to be an All-Star this season. Murray has stepped up his game big time and is only improving with each coming game. Do you think Adam Silver will fulfill the Warriors star’s wish and elect Dejounte as his replacement?
