Drama is rising once again in the NBA as trade deadlines and free agency are entering into the fold. Notably, things in Brooklyn may be shaky. Reports have suggested James Harden could test free agency because he is unhappy with the situation in Brooklyn. However, not many are on board with this idea. Even Draymond Green believes it is weird for these reports to come out.

Green spoke about the Harden situation on his podcast and believes it is a weird time for this report to come out because everyone is trying to win a championship at this point of the season.

Nets made headlines when they formed one of the most deadly Big 3’s that have come through the years. With Kevin Durant, the Beard, and Kyrie, their offense is unmatched. However, with the current situation, Harden has been left alone to shoulder the load, and this may be wearing off on him.

Draymond Green not buying James Harden free agency reports

Players have shown out their frustrations before and tried to make their way out of an organization. Harden himself did this with the Houston Rockets as he wanted to compete. However, Green doesn’t believe teams will wait for free agency in modern times. He also believes it is a weird time for these reports to come out as the Nets are legit contenders this season.

He said, “What a weird time for it to come out. Free agency doesn’t start till July 1st and it’s January. Everybody is trying to do all they can to compete for a championship.”

Green continued, “I’ll sum it up quickly, when LeBron left Cleveland and went to Miami, you no longer really see teams wait it out for free agency. They kind of move on if they know a guy isn’t going to resign, so maybe that’s why it came out.”

While Green didn’t go into much detail, he did put out some good points. The Beard has not publically announced any dissatisfaction with the organization. Moreover, the ‘Big 3′ aspires to win a championship together. Looking at this season, the Nets are a top-seed team in the conference and major threats at full power.

Hence, with the way things stand, it is weird to see a James Harden free agency theory play out. With the working of a team, most stars do get traded rather than waiting it out. It is more strategy-based as teams look to get the best return rather than get a players’ service for one year.
