The Golden State Warriors looked to bounce back after the much-awaited return of Stephen Curry. But, the defending champions are currently the tenth seed on the Western Conference table after their disappointing defeat against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night. NBA fans blamed one of the Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson for the team’s recent defeat. They swarmed the comments section on Twitter to share their opinion on Thompson’s poor performance in the game against the Nets. 

The Dubs found their zeal back after Curry’s return from the injury. The Warriors pulled off a fighting game against the 2021-22 seasons runners-up, the Boston Celtics before the Nets game. Though the results didn’t go in favor of the Dubs, fans were delighted to see their stars fighting it out on the hardwood. However, the defeat against the Nets didn’t seem to impress the fans.

Fans go berzerk on Klay Thompson

The Warriors faced an upsetting 116-120 loss against the Nets. Furthermore, they failed to win the game even after leading the Nets in the first two quarters. Notably, Curry and Jonathan Kuminga pitched in 26 and 20 points respectively for the team. However, the fans’ attention eventually diverted toward Thompson’s poor performance. A recent tweet from Warriorsworld shared Thompson’s game stats. The tweet read, “Klay 4/16 and 0/7 from 3… Shoots a 3 for the lead and bricks.” The 4x NBA champion only managed to score 10 points in the game with 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Moreover, fans were disappointed when Thompson took a three-point shot while the Dubs were only two points short of the Nets, as he eventually missed the bucket.

Reacting to the tweet, fans seemingly blamed the 5x NBA All-Star for the defeat against the Nets. One user said, “Dud is so selfish! Klay Thompson this one is on you bro!”
