Amid a historic run with 35/8/9 splits in the year’s final month, Luka Doncic found the time to make an appearance on the?Dude Perfect Overtime show. However, it is not the only time a Dallas Mavericks player has appeared on the popular show to make trick shots and hang out with the hosts. Meanwhile, a former teammate of Doncic issued a rather pressure-inducing message to Luka before the start of the show.?

The former teammate of Doncic in question here is the 7’3” Houston Rockets center Boban Marjanovic. Incidentally, the wholesome Serbian, who had previously appeared on Dude Perfect, sent a conflicting motivational speech for Doncic which ended up stealing the spotlight.

A Former Teammate’s conflicting message for Luka Doncic

Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic, who is having a historic season, recently appeared on Dude Perfect for the ultimate showdown. Likewise, another Mavericks player once previously appeared on the show. The former Mavericks’ center, who currently plays for the Houston Rockets, Boban Marjonovic, appeared on the show over a year ago.

Having had some experience with the over-the-top sports stunts at the show, Morjanovic issued some insightful advice to his old friend at the very start of the show via a recorded message. However, the wholesome Serbian center also included a conflicting message for Doncic.?

Before the show began, the?Dude Perfect?hosts greeted Doncic with a surprise video from a ‘former teammate’. It was a video message from none other than Boban Marjonovic, who played in Dallas alongside Doncic for over two seasons, from 2020 to 2022. In the video, Marjonovic had quite an encouraging message for his friend.?

He said,?”I just want to encourage you for the Overtime show. Your first time, don’t be nervous; you are going to do really great. Not too much expectation. You are not the first Maverick who has done this. I’ve already been that, and I crushed it; everybody loved it, and everybody enjoyed it.”

Marjonovic’s humorous ‘motivational message’ left Doncic and the crew laughing. Needless to say, no love was lost between the former teammates, as the former Maverick concluded by saying, “Just kidding my brother, you will do great, show that beautiful personality, your beautiful heart, have fun and enjoy with the guys. I love you bro, the guys is the best.”?

After the wholesome greetings, Doncic played a bunch of games on the show, including a 1-vs-1 scrimmage with one of the hosts, Cody. The show was uploaded on the?Dude Perfect YouTube channel, which has over 58 million subscribers, on New Year’s Eve. Unsurprisingly, in less than 24 hours, the video crossed over two million views.?
