Most teams around the NBA have made major blunders while offering contracts and signing new players. Over the years, teams have splurged hundreds of millions on non-performing players. However, the one deal that stands out most is Charlotte Hoernets’ deal with Gordan Hayward. Despite a lackluster career, Hayward managed to get back-to-back blockbuster deals from franchises. Moreover, his current stint with the Charlotte Hornets has seen him play the least amount of games in his career.

In his three seasons with Michael Jordan‘s Hornets, Gordon Hayward has massively underdelivered on the few times he has been on the court. However, while nursing a recent shoulder injury, Hayward’s camp fired back at the Hornets out of the blue. Robyn Hayward, the wife of Gordon Hayward, recently took shots at the 6x NBA champion’s struggling franchise.

Over the years, Hayward has taken a massive hit to his reputation. After underwhelming stints with multiple teams and hundreds of millions in salary, Hayward has become one of the most polarizing figures in the league. When the Hornets signed Hayward for a whopping $120 million for four years, many considered the move another failure of Michael Jordan’s ownership. So far, the notion has held its own. With three seasons under the belt, Hayward’s stint in Charlotte has been overwhelmingly disappointing.
