Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green faced a one-game suspension after he stomped on Sacramento Kings player Domantas Sabonis during Game 2. While many were supportive of the league’s decision, others, including Damian Lillard, found the suspension a little too extreme. However, the Portland Trail Blazers star probably didn’t anticipate the criticism he would face when he reshared the news on Twitter with a face-palm emoji as a show of disagreement.

The Golden State Warriors are down by 2-0 and they are going to need all the firepower they can get to win the series. However, the recent mid-game incident during Monday night’s loss left the Warriors more vulnerable than they would be comfortable with.

Damian Lillard makes his stance clear on the Draymond Green incident

The Golden State Warriors are yet to win a game against the Sacramento Kings and Draymond Green’s suspension was the drama they didn’t need at this crucial moment. Shortly after the league announced its decision, Damian Lillard took to Twitter to reshare the post with a face-palm emoji that indicated that he was not on board with the league’s decision. The speculation was further proved when he posted a follow-up tweet with a caption that read, “A suspension is crazy”.

However, a certain NBA fan who goes by the username ‘TheBackwoodHokage‘ was seemingly unimpressed by Lillard’s tweet. He responded to the 7x All-Star’s post and wrote, “I know you wanna do the ‘tweet cool things like kuz’ during the playoffs? But you gotta work on the takes.” It didn’t take long for Lillard to fire back at the Twitter user with a scathing response. He wrote, “This the dumbest sh*t I done heard in a while. Read what you just said to yourself? tf I look like.”

However, the online feud did not end with Lillard’s tweet. In less than 10 mins the fan responded to Lillard by writing, Turn me up then dame.” While Lillard has yet to respond to the comment, the Draymond Green suspension fiasco has prompted many to take their stance on the social media platform.

NFL veteran gives his take on Green’s suspension

Shortly after the news was released online, Football linebacker Emmanuel Acho posted a short clip on Twitter where he talked about Green’s actions and the league’s decision. Acho said, “He gotta pay the stupid tax. I?m not surprised he got suspended. He has to pay the stupid tax. What is the stupid tax? If you are stupid enough to step on a guy and get caught in 4k on national television, yeah you?re gonna get suspended.”

The former NFL star believed that instead of reacting violently toward Sabonis, Green should have fallen to the floor “clutching his ankle and Sabonis would be suspended.”
