Dwyane Wade enjoyed a revolutionary NBA career. Going down as one of the best shooting guards, the Flash was a transitional talent. A historic player and member of the prestigious NBA 75 team, D-Wade carried the same philosophies outside the hardwood. Notably, his parenting approach with his daughter, Zaya has earned immense praise. However, his ethics came into question due to accusations from his ex-wife. But his recent social media post in support of his daughter earned him major praise.

Wade announced he and his wife Gabrielle Union were proud parents of a transgender daughter back in 2012 on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’. Since then, he has been an advocate for his 15-year-old. He has openly shared her story. Saying she made him more aware of the LGBTQ+ community, the two share a strong bond.

But that recently came into the bad limelight. Zaya’s birth mother, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade filed a petition objecting to D-Wade’s decision to legally change Zaya’s name and gender. However, his response on Instagram was rather the perfect calling for any transgender child, according to a marriage therapist.

Dwyane Wade can do no wrong with Zaya

Flash and Siohvaughn Funches-Wade had an ugly separation. The two high school sweethearts made several nasty allegations about one another. The proceedings lasted long six years. And now, she came back with more. Notably, her petition claimed everything that Dwyane Wade did for his daughter was for profitable purposes. The three-time NBA champion took to social media to address all and any claims made.

And it seems they hit right on the money. Moe Ari Brown, a marriage and family therapist held the Hall of Famer in high regard for his response. She said: “Dwyane Wade’s comments were everything a trans child wants to hear from their parent.”

The Flash has been nothing but supportive of Zaya from the time she came out. He and his wife Gabrielle Union have stayed by her side through it all. Taking the scrutiny of the world, Wade never backed away from his responsibilities. As a parent, he believes in giving the correct feedback and support to his children. And he continues to preach his words.

Notably, the Miami Heat legend took the biggest step by legally helping Zaya identify herself as she wished. He changed her name from Zion to Zaya. Moreover, he even signed a petition to get her gender changed. Dwyane Wade has done right by his responsibilities. When it comes to his 15-year-old, he probably couldn’t have done a better job.
