The NBA is all about competition. While players respect each other, the element of competitiveness resides within everyone. For the past couple of years, the battle for the best big man in the league is dominated by two individuals. Notably, Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid are arguably the best big men in basketball right now. Recently, Embiid fans may have got an upper hand after Jokic was embarrassed by Cade Cunningham.

Jokic is one of the unique big men to come into the NBA. He isn’t the most athletic or strong. However, with his passing ability, he is a force. The Joker set the stage up for big men after winning the league MVP last season. But Embiid was right behind him as the two went head to head for the trophy.

While the Joker is often the one embarrassing other players, he recently had an incident himself. While battling the Pistons, rookie Cade Cunningham took on Jokic. Cunningham then hit Jokic with a mean step back, which had the reigning MVP dazed. Cade knocked down the shot, and it set ablaze the NBA Twitter world.
Similar to last season, the competition between Embiid and Jokic is running hot once again. Both these big men are playing some of their best basketball and trying to get their team to the top. Embiid and Jokic both are putting up MVP-worthy numbers, and the competition is as close as ever.

With Nikola Jokic, he is leading the NBA in almost all major statistics. His all-around performance makes him a candidate to win his second MVP. The Nuggets star is putting up 26.2 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. Despite not having Jamal Murray, he has led Denver to a 24-21 record. Hence, the Joker is en route to win another MVP.

However, Embiid is playing the best basketball of his career, especially with his scoring. The Philly center is putting up 29.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. Losing his point guard, Ben Simmons has not got him to miss a step as he dominates every time he steps on the floor. This leaves both these superstars extremely close when it comes to being the best center in the league.
