Emotional James Harden Has a Three-Word-Message for Legendary Rapper Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle was undoubtedly a big part of the NBA community. Often sat in the front row seat of Los Angeles Lakers games, the rap artist loved basketball. He even refurbished a basketball court while partnering with Puma. In addition, Hussle had a close relationship with several NBA players. However, his death caused turmoil, and one of the most affected was his close friend James Harden.

The Beard and Hussle came from the same area of Los Angeles. Attending the same middle school, their friendship stayed strong even after fame hit. The duo was spotted partying together multiple times. Likewise, hearing the unfortunate news about his friend’s death put Harden in a bad shape. Playing for the Houston Rockets at the time, the franchise let their cornerstone take a couple of days off for himself.

And since then, the former MVP has made it his mission to live out the legacy of the rapper. Today, three years after Hussle’s death, Harden still has him in his heart.

The impact of Hussle’s demise was felt all across the NBA. Players came out with his name on their sneakers to pay their respects. On the other hand, Harden continues to play with the purpose of keeping his friend’s name alive. Shortly after Nipsey Hussle passed away, Harden spoke about the rapper and said his name will never die. Harden also revealed how Hussle was in the works to build up a sports foundation in Los Angeles, a plan that he now aims to fulfill. Likewise, their friendship truly stands out as one of a kind.

And even years after, Harden can’t let go of his middle school friend. The 10-time All-Star shared an emotional message on Twitter as he remembered Hussle. James Harden said: “Miss you bro”.

However, the master scorer wasn’t the only one who was close to Nipsey Hussle. Notably, Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was a part of the rapper’s close circle as well. And to honor the legacy of Hussle, Brodie made history on the basketball court. Competing to the highest degree, Westbrook put up a stat line the NBA hadn’t seen since the days of Wilt Chamberlain. Likewise, he exploded for a 20-point, 20-rebound, and 21-assist masterclass. Westbrook screamed the phrase, “For Nipsey”, as he walked down the court with pride following his achievement.

Not only did his music impact many, but Hussle never forgot his roots. The rapper used his love for basketball to spread love within the community. As James Harden goes into the new season with a motivation to recover his reputation, a championship would likely be the only thing on his mind.
