Enes Kanter Freedom, Who Publically Bashed LeBron James, Claims He’s Being “Blackballed” by the NBA: “The Reason Is That I Spoke Out”

NBA superstar LeBron James is one of the most vocal athletes in the nation. He uses his platform to speak about various issues in the country and around the world. James has been very vocal about the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement and spoke openly about police brutality. Recently, James was very vocal about the country’s inability to bring WNBA star Brittney Griner back. However, fellow basketball player, Enes Kanter Freedom was once critical of James’ silence on human rights atrocities in China. He also criticized the silence of the NBA on the matter.
Enes Kanter has been vocal about China in the past couple of years. He has also shown his stance with his shoes. Kanter once wore shoes that read, ‘Free Tibet’ referring to China’s control of Tibet. He also wore shoes that read ‘Free Uyghur’ supporting the Uyghurs who are subject to slave labor among other things.

Enes Kanter Freedom criticizes the NBA and LeBron James
Kanter has criticized LeBron James and the NBA saying that they are not ready to talk against China because of their business ventures in the country. And now, Enes Kanter Freedom has claimed that the NBA is blackballing him because of his stance against China.

“Free agency is open for one month. Normally, I should have already received offers,” Kanter said. “This summer I did not receive one single offer. The reason is that I spoke out against what is happening in China in recent months. The Chinese market is a big part of the NBA business. So, they will allow talking freely about anything you want until it hurts them financially. As soon as you do that, they will cut you. It is very sad and unacceptable.”

Kanter played for the Boston Celtics last year and was then traded to the Houston Rockets who waived him. The year prior, he averaged a double-double with the Portland Trail Blazers. However, Kanter knows there is a price to pay when you speak for what you believe in. He said he knew the risk he was taking and has no regrets about it.
Enes Kanter was born in Switzerland to Turkish parents. He then spent his childhood in Turkey. Kanter then came to the United States to play high school basketball. He later wanted to play college basketball but was deemed ineligible by the NCAA because of his time with the Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
