“Everybody Wanted to Go Out With Veronica”: Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley Talk About Their First Dates

It was 1990, Shaquille O’Neal was cementing himself as not only one of the most dominant big men to play basketball but also possibly the funniest man in sports media. In 1996, he moved from Orlando to Los Angeles Lakers where he joined forces with another superstar Charles Barkley on what became known as “the original dream team”.

This showcases a great long-term friendship that has been witnessed throughout their and is still ongoing with reality TV shows. They display a rich and healthy character towards each other. And their interaction with the media did not pose any grudge to make an entry into reality shows. From the podcast ‘The Steam Room’, Ernie Johnson Jr. asked Charles Barkley about his first date; “Amy Shorter”, said Charles with no reaction time.

It is not surprising for any person to be present in the steam room show, you name it, and they are here. With no further due, Amy Shorter was available on the podcast to discuss the fact of being Charles’s first date.

Shaquille O’Neal answers his first date

Furthermore, Charles concurred with the fact of her being the fatal attraction, “everybody wanted to go out with Veronica”. Similarly, Kenny Smith asked Shaquille O’Neal to talk about his first date in the show ‘Inside The NBA’,  “Alana Howard, she is married now” Shaq replied. Even Charles added more to Shaq’s reply about his first date that it was awesome, classic, and it was a total surprise for pulling this question on them in the show.

It seemed fun-packed shows when stars like Shaq and Charles come alive with the facts of their past. Likewise, Inside the NBA is a show where Kenny and EJ do not hinder to have a conversation of such type to make any disclosures that could pump the show.
