The Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings had the fans at Chase Center on the edge of their seat. In yet another thrilling episode of the Stephen Curry-De’Aaron Fox matchup, the final minutes of game 4 were nerve-wracking for both the fans and the stars on the court. Amid all the buckets and drama in the final quarter, Curry’s costly turnover stole the show as it had the Dubnation in shambles.

Redeeming himself in the final play, the 4x champion went on to credit the head coach Steve Kerr for his smart move to keep the Warriors’ playoff hopes alive. Taking the blame, the 3-point leader shared the pressure in the building after he almost gave it to the Sacramento Kings

Continuing the momentum from game 3, the Golden State Warriors were on a mission to tie the series after falling short 2-0 in their first two games. Again led by Stephen Curry from the front, the veteran guard put on a match-saving 32-point performance to tie the series. Though the Warriors had scope to win the game by a good margin, the two-time MVPs’ late turnover did not allow it.

Up 5 points with less than a minute left, Curry decided to call a timeout after two Sacramento defenders locked him up near the half-court. However, the Warriors had used their last timeout on a review, which they lost, as Curry left his team in denial. Here is how the lack of awareness almost cost the game.

Though the Warriors were given a technical, coach Kerr made sure he took the foul on him. However, Kings star De’Aaron Fox made sure he took advantage of the opportunity. After cutting the lead to 4 with a free throw for the tech, Fox pulled up from deep to hit a three, proving why he deserves the ‘Clutch Player of the Year’ award.

Cutting the lead to 1, the Kings did not allow the Warriors to score further after they grabbed a clutch defensive rebound and called a timeout with 10 seconds left. Locking down the Sacramento guard, Curry forced Fox to pass the ball to his former teammate Harrison Barnes, who missed the open look, thus failing to take a 3-1 lead.

After giving the fans at Chase Center a near heart attack, Curry spoke about the turnover in a post-game interview. Chef mentioned, “I didn’t know we lost the challenge, and we didn’t have any timeouts left… I looked over the bench, and everybody was shaking their head, so it was an unfortunate situation in that respect but a good learning lesson.”
