The Golden State Warriors have had a topsy-turvy 2022-23 season. The Dubs have been nowhere close to their title-winning performance of last year, and even their players are aware of it. Stephen Curry was having an MVP-level performance until his injury in December. Although the Warriors have shown courage in his absence, there have been rumors about their trade policies before the deadline next month. One such rumor was trading their young star for some other players who could help them in their postseason. In a recent report, those rumors were rejected, which subsequently sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy.

The Warriors youngster James Wiseman was rumored to be traded for other players to bolster the squad before the advent of the postseason. But the Warriors’ refusal to trade the 20-year-old has attracted a lot of flak from fans.

The recent rumors on the youngster suggested that he’d be out of the team before last month’s trade deadline. The 20-year-old showed promise when he dropped 30 points against the Brooklyn Nets in December. But since then Wiseman has suffered an injury and is currently in the G-league.

In a recent report from The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, any such rumors have been rejected. “This is also why [Jonathan] Kuminga, Wiseman and [Moses] Moody remain likely to be with the Warriors beyond the deadline,” Slater reported. Although this shows belief by the team in the youngster, fans are not exactly happy with the decision. Many believe that the Warriors are ruining the youngster’s career by keeping him in the loop, instead of trading him to an NBA team in need for such a player. The Dubs have already failed to develop Wiseman into a star-caliber performer, utilizing his massive potential.

Here are some of the reactions

The reactions show a different side of the fanbase as many wanted the Warriors to show effort for the postseason. P.J. Washington was a rumored target for the Warriors in exchange for Wiseman, but now everything seems to fall apart.

However, this trade plan failing shouldn’t mean that the Dubs shouldn’t look for different solutions. At this rate the Dubs could have tons of problems plaguing them if they reach the playoffs.

The Warriors could have difficulties in the postseason despite the return of Stephen Curry

The Dubs were defeated by the Boston Celtics on Thursday. A close matchup, which ultimately went in the favor of the Celtics. Although Curry was strong with an outrageous half-court shot, he still isn’t living up to his standards just yet following his return from shoulder injury.

The loss against Celtics wasn’t a shocker, but their performances are a testament to the fact that they are missing an important piece. With the trade window deadline approaching fast, the fans expect the front-office to act quickly and help them go further in the league.
