Fans of Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons are certainly not having the best start to the New Year. Simmons hasn’t been performing up to expectations which has prompted fans and media analysts around the world to take shots at him. Interestingly, it seems it’s not only the fans and the media who are roasting Simmons. In the latest episode of Love Island, celebrity host Maya Jama apparently took a dig at him.

In case you are wondering, Jama and Simmons dated for a while. Following some troubles in their relationship, the two eventually broke up and Jama addressed her love life with a cheeky one-liner that felt like digs aimed at Simmons.

Ex-girlfriend takes shots at Ben Simmons

The former Rookie of the Year has had multiple relationships during his time in the NBA. One of his most high-profile relationships was with supermodel Kendall Jenner. However, he had little luck with her.

Reports have suggested that Simmons was in a relationship with Love Island star Maya Jama. They were also spotted together in public on numerous occasions. However, their conflicting schedules resulted in their split.

On a recent episode of Love Island, it seems Jama has taken shots at her former love interests. As per recent reports, she said, “Don’t forget finding your perfect match is never that simple. Trust me, I know.”

While it’s difficult to interpret who exactly the message was directed towards, fans have speculated it to be either rapper Stormzy or Simmons, or maybe both!

Simmons and Jama were engaged for a while

The Australian basketball star and the British TV presenter were apparently engaged for eight months. However, their differences resulted in a breakup and they called their engagement off.

Simmons popped the question back in 2021 while the two were celebrating Christmas together in Simmons’ mansion in New Jersey. As things would go, the engagement didn’t work out which was tough for both of them. One of the major reasons behind their split was their conflicting schedules which acted like a roadblock in their relationship.
