Simmons failed to turn up fit for any of the games this season. Moreover, there were reports of him possibly returning for a game against the Boston Celtics during the NBA playoffs.
Interestingly enough, the latest reports on Ben Simmons say that he will undergo back surgery. According to multiple reports, Simmons is expected to be back on the court in 3-4 months’ time.

For the uninitiated, the 3-time All-Star was ready for his much anticipated Nets debut against the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the first round of the playoffs. However, he let the coaching staff know that the herniated disc in his back turned sore after a workout.

This is the same injury for which he will undergo surgery. Furthermore, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, it is not only the back injury that is troubling Simmons. A mental block still exists within him from last season’s postseason that is delaying his debut for the Nets.

Just to be clear a herniated disc is no joke. Just being active can be tough not to mention being a pro athlete in a sport which really is based on jumping. If you think I am being dramatic you clearly have no idea how much a herniated disc hurts.
