Since the trailer release of the new Michael Jordan movie, the hype has been over the roof. Starring Academy Award-winning duo Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, the movie titled ‘Air’ is set to release on the 5th of April, 2023. In an attempt to promote his new movie, director Ben Affleck sat down with former Boston Celtics star Kendrick Perkins for an interview. Moreover, a segment of the interview showing Affleck’s high praise for the former basketball veteran has caught the attention of NBA buffs.

However, fans seemingly accused Affleck of being sarcastic while praising Kendrick Perkins. Fans took to social media to mock the former Celtics player and their reactions continue to go viral on Twitter.

Revolving around the historic sneaker deal between Nike and Air Jordan, the movie is centered around how a Nike sales executive bagged the collaboration with the Bulls legend. Using the funds from their company ‘Artists Equity’, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s ‘Air’ is nearing its release. Along with the duo, veteran actors such as Viola Davis and Chris Tucker are set to star in the movie as well. A new take on the story and a vibrant cast along with several updates has only mounted excitement for the movie.

Recently Affleck joined Big Perk for an interview to promote the new movie. When questioned about why he chose the story, Affleck replied, “The film character is you know really interesting to me. The whole story is fascinating, you know, it’s like Nike really changed sports when they signed Jordan…Air Jordan changed that company, changed sports, changed sports marketing”

The 50-year-old added in the end, “I wanted to tell a story that kind of communicated why I found it so moving and connective.” justifying his choice for choosing a unique story.

Fans troll Perkins as Ben Affleck has high praise for the former Celtics player

Perkins took a turn in the discussion as he questioned Affleck, “Outside of me right, who is your favorite Celtics player?”. The Argo star wasted no time as he replied, “There is nobody outside of you. You are my top 10. The ten of my top 10 is you. 09-10 Kendrick Perkins, I’d put up against anybody in 2k,” showing his love to the 38-year-old.
