Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s name is on everyone’s lips currently. During a game against the Cincinnati Bengals last week, he collapsed mid-game due to a cardiac arrest and had to be taken to a hospital after medics managed to revive his heartbeat on the field. Following this unfortunate incident, some conservative voices have bashed the Covid-19 vaccine, claiming it to be the reason why Hamlin collapsed on the field. Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who regularly chimes in on such topics, recently called out such dangerous rhetoric.

He vehemently criticized a recent report by Fox News host Tucker Carlson which claimed that there is a correlation between the vaccine and Hamlin’s collapse. Abdul-Jabbar bashed two media personalities for trying to spread misinformation during such difficult times while also giving his personal opinion on the whole ordeal.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar bashes TV personalities for using Damar Hamlin for their agenda

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar called out media personality Tucker Carlson during his rant in a recent edition of his Substack piece. He accused Carlson of spreading misinformation after the latter allegedly misrepresented a doctor’s testimony as a report to spread vaccine misinformation on his show. Carlson had invited a doctor, who has previously spoken out against Covid vaccines, on his show while also referring to a letter as evidence with no academic or scientific backing to draw a connection between Hamlin’s cardiac arrest and his vaccination status. 

Moreover, Kareem also called out Charlie Kirk, who is an influential conservative commentator. Kirk also held the same belief that Hamlin’s tragic incident was related to the vaccine. He questioned Kirk’s reasoning behind some of the comments he makes while also accusing him of skipping all logic and jumping to a conclusion that doesn’t logically follow.

Bashing Carlson and Kirk in his article, Kareem wrote, “For the Two Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Kirk and Carlson, exploiting human misery for personal gain is just good business.”

Following Hamlin’s hospitalization, various reports have bashed the vaccine angle. According to a recent report, his heart stopped beating because he suffered a rare condition known as arrhythmia. Kareem once again was not shy of putting his views forward and saying what he felt was right. 

Hamlin is currently stable in the hospital

Damar Hamlin received immediate medical attention after he collapsed on the field against the Bengals. While in the hospital, he had to breathe through a pipe for quite some time. Thankfully, he can breathe normally now and is slowly gaining stability.

The 24-year-old is expected to be released soon and is also quite active on social media currently. Following a brilliant 35-22 Bills win over the New England Patriots, he tweeted out in support of his team.
